I know it’s pretty zany to post something about a mailing list service, but this is so lovely it made me want to post this. if everyone would have so much dedication to what she or he does, it would be a pretty nifty world. it also reminds me a should be a bit more dedicated in everything i do. dedication rules!

Vin Du Select Qualitite
Looks like I have a new favourite label! VDSQ records is an American record label dedicated to the acoustic guitar. Not only are they going to release an all acoustic record by Thurston Moore, the simplicity of their concept + the fabulous restrained design make it hard to resist buying all their records in one go. For now I just ordered the Chris Brokaw one. (Yeah, that’s right, I claimed...

Calluna
I came to love typography. I’m still totally new to it - and I have no plans to design fonts, but it’s been fun watching them. So, instead of your typical Lucida Grande or Arial, I use Calluna for this blog. (Through typekit). Maybe the design of this blog is still very buggy & silly, at least the huge amounts of whitespace should let you enjoy this lovely font.

Finally made this ep available again. It’s my former band, we disbanded almost 2 years ago. If you want a physical copy, send me an e-mail. It’s very ’90s indie rock.

steiner makes nice music
steinersteiner: I recorded this track between august - november 2010, using a (bad) guitar + ebow and my laptop. I’m quite happy with the result, although the sound isn’t perfect.   And, oh, it’s a lovesong.  Untitled by _steiner it’s always fun when friends start to “release”/record/write (more) music. even more so when you can sincerely say you like it.

Winter OST
Wazzaaa! Like many other people, I’m feeling perfectly happy/excited/euphoric because of the “extreme” winter we’re having here in Belgium. Waking up in a snow covered landscape for i-lost-the-count-?? days is just such a lovely humbling experience. I know many people freeze to dead, others may have a very difficult job at the moment because of the coldness.. so it’s...

As a follow-up on the running post. I have this psychological thing that when I measure something (how fast i run, how far i can jump, how long i can hold my breath, etc …) I want to “break my record”. Don’t know why.. I guess it’s the alpha male in me. But so.. i went running again - and obviously tried to run faster. Which was a really bad idea as the temperature...

The Bear That Wasn't
Probably the nicest belgian folk record of 2010. I say probably because I haven’t heard it completely, it’s just based on the incredible house shows we’ve played with Nils. (Click here if you don’t see any player embedded)
