I came to love typography. I’m still totally new to it - and I have no plans to design fonts, but it’s been fun watching them. So, instead of your typical Lucida Grande or Arial, I use Calluna for this blog. (Through typekit). Maybe the design of this blog is still very buggy & silly, at least the huge amounts of whitespace should let you enjoy this lovely font.
In case you haven’t heard of him.. Peter Broderick is responsible of some of the finest music I’ve heard this year. I’m hearing Sufjan Stevens, Yann Tiersen, Sylvain Chauveau, Great Lake Swimmers, Max Richter, … + he’s one of the most friendly musicians I’ve met. (which always adds to the music). As far as i know he released a 7” on type last year, and returned this year with a marvellous classical album called “Float”. On Bella Union he just released an album called “Home” which contains nothing else than incredibly lovely folky tunes in the vein of Sufjan Stevens and Iron & Wine. He also released “Docile” on kning disc, which is just an awesome piano record. I’m still not sure if i have to play that one on 33 rpm or 45, because both sound really lovely. :-) - You should really try to get your hands on “Docile” while you can, cause that’s probably a record that won’t be around for too long.. and.. while you’re at it, get the others too!
Here are some tunes: try it!
